Missing in Action Update

Hi All!



I hope you are all doing well? As you may have noticed I am STILL without a laptop so I am trying to post when I can from Richard's PC. It's a load of crap because I miss blogging as much as I used to and I feel like im neglecting my readers.



However luckily for me I have been able to claim some tax back off the tax man; I have overpaid tax the last five years and in return will be gaining a HUGE amount back. I won't put it here exactly how much but it is a serious amount.



This means that I can purchase a new laptop ahead of my 25th birthday so I can get back to what I love doing. I can finally sort myself a decent savings account too which i've been wanting to do for a long while.



Finally I will be treating myself to something for me, maybe a pair of really out there heels or a designer bag? Who know's but I won't go crazy!

Sorry guys....

Hi All!!


I just wanted to let you all know the reason I haven't been blogging much recently and that is because my laptop decided to die on me!! The only access I have to a PC is Richard's so I will try my best to post as much as possibly. Looks like my laptop can't be fixed so i'll have to wait until my birthday in September to get a new one.


For now anyways here is my most recent night out attire, a dress you have previously seen me in before but hey ho....

Help!

Hi All!

I've noticed recently that I can not comment on other peoples blogs or follow interesting blogs! Can anyone help me with this?

Basically when I go onto anyones blog, when I click to comment it asks me to choose a profile which is google account. I type my comment, click post and then it asks my to log back into blogger.com.... and I am already logged in?!

So when I do log into blogger, I try to post the comment, but it STILL asks me to log into blogger?!! I don't know what else to do, I seem to be going around in circles with this.

Also if I want to follow a new blog I have to log in, it's like I never stay logged in on other peoples blogs. There is never any option anymore for me to follow blogs.

I don't know what to do and I don't want people to think i'm being rude because I read so many different blogs on a daily basis and I do want to comment on so many different posts but blogger won't let me!

Any ideas?


EDIT- I have downloaded Google Chrome and will use this for the time being when using blogger.com. Thank you so much for the comments to help me figure this out and to Laura @ Liparazzi who advised using GC! I can comment only on blog's where the comment option opens into a new window.. so still struggling on commenting on some blogs :/ Better then nothing I guess!

My take on Black Barbie

Hi All!

First of all I want to say no this is not about Nicki Minaj, as much as I love her unique style and MCing, this post is about the Black Barbie, you know the plastic kind. As a young girl I played with Barbie, Cindy and Ken. I had a doll house, cars, furniture and clothes upon clothes.

Out of my full collection I owned one black barbie doll. You may think 'so whats the big deal' and your right as a child I more then likely wasn't all that bothered that I only owned one black barbie. Actually scratch that, who remembers Cricket? My mom searched high and low for a black version in the UK and I do believe she bought it on a trip to visit family in Canada. Anyways back to the point, I think if there were more dolls of many different race when I was younger I would have wanted them in my collection but that was never an option. This is the point of my post, when I was a girl there was no option to own so many different dolls which are all so appealing nowadays.

I have noticed more recently that there seems to be more and more barbie dolls of different races, and I like it! If I was a child now I would thrive on owning so many different ethnic barbies.

Times are changing and I wanted to show you these photos of some fabulous creations...

To think I missed out on playing with those fashionistas!

A little update on things...

Hi All!!

How are you guys? Last week was one of the most hectic and exhausting experiences of my entire life to date. To cut a long story short me and The Rockettes auditioned for X Factor last week infront of Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulis and Louie Walsh. We didn't get through which is a shame but we met the gorgeous Dermot O'Leary...

We were not what the judges were looking for which is absoutley fine, they didn't like our style but we knew before audition that it could go either way. Unfortunately our X Factor journey ended there infront of the panel and we're not bitter we will still keep doing our shows around the West Midlands because our Pub/Club/Restaurant audiences seem to love us.

However I will say I do believe that the shows producers know exactly who they are putting through before any live auditions as plenty of talented singers auditioned and didn't get through which is a shame and to hear 'we don't think you're ready' or 'come back next year' over and over.. well no one wants to hear that do they, expecially when the audience don't agree.

I haven't been 100% well this weekend either, I think i'm still recovering from all the drama and lost sleep due to X Factor. I was ill yesterday too and to top it off have come to the decision that I am allergic to a certain eyelash glue I have been using..... it just seems to get worse lol.

To end on a positive note I did go to Blackpool for the annual birthday celebrations on Saturday for my Uncle Juniors 45th, so I have 'outfit of the night' post coming up soon.

Hope you are all doing well and please bear with me whilst I get back to my old self.... i'm just too tired to do anything but work, eat and sleep.

Rant: False Lashes and False Advertising

Hi All!

In light of the recent news that yet another makeup brand, CoverGirl, have been caught out with false advertising of their most recent mascara to hit their shelves, I wanted to make a post about all this malarky because quite frankly i'm getting a bit cheesed off.

Now any makeup junkie like me knows full well that the majority if not all of the adverts we see on TV or in a magazine for new mascara's are used with false lashes be they a full strip, inserts or enhanced after production. I really don't understand why these companies do this to us, do they really think we can not tell the difference?

Take the CoverGirl advert in question.....

How hypocritical can they get? More like is your advert true or false!!!

If you have read any of my previous reviews on mascara's here and here then you will know my personal preference is that I do like to have long, full and voluminous lashes. My HG mascara's to achieve this are L'Oreal Voluminous, Benefit Bad Gal Lash or Bourjois Clubbing and they all do the trick in my opinion. Recently though I have been turning more towards false lashes and experimenting with different brands more often.

The adverts that have been released in recent years are laughable. In my opinion even if the companies state on their adverts that the models have had false lashes, inserts or lashes enhanced after production to cover their backs it still annoys me.

As a consumer I want the REAL effect of using a product not a photo of a female wearing false lashes. Just take a look at these.....

This is where bloggings of honest reviews come into it, I much prefer to read a fellow bloggers thoughts of a product then go by a brands advertisement. Seeing real photos of the Before and After's we all love to see is what helps me decide on if a product is worth purchasing or not.

Sorry to rant, I never do this on my blog haha! Does anyone else get annoyed at these adverts? What are your opinions?
